Hi students!

Can you believe it’s Week 4 already? This week our focus is on composing. Composing means creating music, or making it up yourself, rather than playing music written by someone else.

Here are the choices for this week:

Week 4 tasks

The first task is to write a rap. Rap is like poetry, put to music. There are lots of things about our current situation in the world that you might feel inspired to write a rap about. You might like to have a look at this great example as inspiration:

The second task is similar; it asks you to rewrite the words to a song, to be about a different topic. This means that you can use the original song’s melody and rhythm, but make your new words fit to that structure. Here is some inspiration:

The third choice for this week is to experiment with BeastBox. This is a cool new mixing app, but it has lots of information about animals and ecosystems throughout the world. Great if you want to learn more about animals while you create music using their sounds! The guy that created this actually goes around the world recording the real sounds that animals and birds make. Have fun!

Have a great week creating your own music!
