Hi Year 4 and Year 5 students!

If you are learning from home at the moment, you would have received a Music Choice Board and Journal in your pack. Here is a digital copy of these documents:

Music Choice Board Year 4-7 T2 W1-5

Music Journal Year 4-7 T2 W1-5

Each week, you can choose one task to complete from the relevant row. You can use the journal to write about what task you chose, or you can even complete the task in the journal if the task needs paper. If you want to do more than one task in a week, you absolutely can!

Week 1 options are all Listening tasks:

The first task is a good choice if you love to draw or paint. Choose 3 different songs and create a different artwork while you are listening to each song. If you or your parent/caregiver would like some more detailed instructions, this link has a great explanation and some useful links: Music as an Art Prompt.

The second task is a good choice if you love listening to music while you do your school work. Some further details for you or your parent/caregiver can be found here:

The internet-based task for Week 1 asks you to listen to one or more of the TED Talks at this link: 9 musical performances by young TEDsters. Write in your journal about which one(s) you watched, what you thought about the video, what you learnt by watching it and anything else that you found interesting. Prepare to be inspired!

If you would like to share your work with me, then please upload a photo or video to this secure Flipgrid that I’ve set up:

Year 4/5 Flipgrid (password: VHyear45music)

Have a great Week 1 of Term 2, Year 4s and Year 5s!! If you have any questions about this week’s tasks, please comment on this post and I will get back to you ASAP.

Cheers,

Mrs Britton 🙂
